LiDARSurvey.com.au provides drone LiDAR survey and spatial data processing services in Australia. These terms govern your use of this website. They do not govern a project — every engagement is covered by a written proposal and its attached conditions, which take precedence over anything on this page if the two conflict.

You may read, print and share anything published here for your own commercial or professional purposes, including in tender documentation and internal briefings. Attribution is appreciated but not required.

You may not republish substantial portions of our written content as your own, scrape the site for training or resale, or present our technical articles as the work of another business.

The technical articles, guides and comparison pages on this site are general information written for a professional audience. They are not engineering advice, they are not survey advice, and they are not a substitute for a qualified assessment of your specific site.

LiDAR practice, regulation and equipment all move. We correct articles when we find them wrong, but we do not warrant that every page is current. Do not make an engineering decision on the strength of a blog post — including ours.

The estimator produces an indicative price band from a small number of inputs. It is a planning aid for budgeting, not an offer, not a quote, and not capable of accounting for site access, airspace approvals, control requirements or the hundred other things that move a real price.

Nothing the estimator outputs binds either party. A price becomes real when it appears in a written proposal we have issued for your specific site.

Projects start with a scoping conversation and a written proposal setting out the deliverables, the accuracy specification, the datum, the capture window and the price. Work begins once that proposal is accepted in writing.

Changes to scope after acceptance — additional area, added deliverables, a revised accuracy target — are quoted as a variation before they are carried out.

Accuracy figures quoted for a project are stated against a defined control network, a defined datum and a defined validation method, and are demonstrated in the QA report delivered with the data. Figures quoted generally on this website describe typical results under favourable conditions and are not a project commitment.

Achievable accuracy depends on conditions we do not control: canopy density, GNSS availability, ground control quality and site access among them. Where conditions prevent us meeting a specification, we say so before capture where it is foreseeable, and in the QA report where it is not.

All flights are conducted under Civil Aviation Safety Authority regulations by appropriately certified crew. Some sites require approvals — controlled airspace, populous areas, proximity to aerodromes — with lead times we will identify during scoping.

You are responsible for securing landowner permission and site access for the capture. We are responsible for airspace compliance and safe conduct of the flight, and for stopping when conditions make it unsafe.

Deliverables produced for your project become yours on payment in full. You can use, modify and redistribute them without further permission from us.

We retain the raw sensor data, trajectory files and processing artefacts, and a working copy of the deliverables, so we can support and re-issue them later. We retain ownership of our processing methods, templates, software and workflows — nothing in a project transfers those.

We may reference a project in general terms as an example of our work. We do not publish client data, site-identifying detail or imagery without written permission.

Terms are set out in the proposal. Larger projects are typically invoiced with a mobilisation component before capture and the balance on delivery. Deliverables are released on payment in accordance with the agreed schedule.

We carry public liability and professional indemnity insurance; current certificates are available on request for tender purposes.

To the extent permitted by law, our liability in connection with a project is limited to re-performing the services or refunding the amount paid for them, at our election. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit, loss of contract or delay costs, however arising.

Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, and the courts of that state have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

We may update these terms. The date at the top reflects the last change. Terms attached to an accepted proposal are fixed for that project and are not altered by changes to this page.
